SAVE THE DATE – XV FORESIGHT TRAINING COURSE
(15-16 DECEMBER 2022, BARI)

Fondazione Gianni Benzi is jointly organising with Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro the XV Foresight Training Course “Boosting research and innovation in a changing regulatory framework”. It will be held on 15-16 December 2022 in Bari at Sala Leogrande (Ex Palazzo delle Poste, piazza Cesare Battisti 1) and online.
The course will be focused on clinical research and innovative methodologies, such as digital and in-silico approaches as well as the use of Real-World Data, to be implemented into all the phases of drug development, including paediatric and rare disease research.
Relevant stakeholders, including representatives from European Institutions, academia, companies and patients, will contribute to the discussion.

FGB AT THE EJP RD GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND CONSORTIUM MEETING 2022

The annual General Assembly and Consortium Meeting of the European Joint Programme on Rare Diseases – EJP RD was held in September 2022 in Porto, Portugal.

It was the occasion to share the achievements reached so far within the programme and to plan and discuss the next steps to enhance the cooperation and innovation for research in rare diseases.

During the meeting, Annalisa Landi, researcher at Fondazione Gianni Benzi and strongly involved in the EJP RD tasks, shared her thoughts on how EJP RD is changing the rare diseases landscape.

EJP-RD JOINT TRANSNATIONAL CALL

The EJP RD Joint Transnational Call, a funding opportunity for research projects, will be launched on December 12th.

The aim of the funding opportunity is to enable scientists in different countries to build an effective collaboration on a common interdisciplinary research project based on complementarities and sharing of expertise, with expected impact to use the results in the future for benefit of patients

IRDIRC REGULATORY SCIENCE COMMITTEE

IRDiRC, a global collaborative initiative with the vision to enable all people living with a rare disease to receive an accurate diagnosis, care, and available therapy within one year of coming to medical attention, announced the formation of the Regulatory Science Committee (RSC) to tackle regulatory challenges in rare disease research.

- Research activities within collaborative European/national projects
- Registries, observational studies and secondary use of data
- Support and coordination of scientific groups within paediatric/rare disease Networks and Research infrastructures in the biomedical field
- Bioinformatics and biostatics
- Bibliographic search and systematic reviews
- Data extraction from national and international databases, data analysis and related reports
- Preparation of applications for funding in response to European/national calls for proposals
