Fondazione Gianni Benzi recently participated the Final Project Meeting of the conect4children (c4c) initiative in Venice, Italy. The event took place on 1–2 April 2025 at Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista, a historical venue. Importantly, this meeting marked the conclusion of the c4c project, active in paediatric clinical trials across Europe.
Over two days, the agenda allowed participants to reflect on the project’s journey, milestones, and upcoming challenges. In particular, sessions focused on building a sustainable paediatric trial network and improving innovation in clinical trial operations. Moreover, patient-centric approaches were highlighted, stressing the value of involving children and families in research design.
As a key partner and Steering Committee member, Fondazione Gianni Benzi co-led core activities in data coordination and quality. Specifically, the Foundation contributed to developing the Performance Measurement System (PMS) and the c4c Information System. These tools were designed to monitor key metrics in real time, thereby supporting faster, data-driven decisions in trials.
Furthermore, Fondazione Benzi developed training courses and materials for the project’s capacity-building efforts. Notably, team members Viviana Giannuzzi, Annalisa Landi, and Lucia Ruggieri led the creation of training content and lessons.
The Final Project Meeting served as a platform to celebrate the collective efforts of all partners involved in the c4c project and to strategies on sustaining and expanding.
