We are pleased to announce that Annalisa Landi, researcher at Fondazione Gianni Benzi and representative of the TEDDY - European Network of Excellence for Paediatric Research, has been just appointed as Steering Group member of the European Network of Centres for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance (ENCePP) for term 2024-2026.
ENCePP is a network coordinated by the European Medicines Agency, aimed to strengthen the monitoring of the benefit-risk balance of medicinal products in Europe by:
- facilitating the conduct of high quality, multi-centre, independent post-authorisation studies with a focus on observational research
- bringing together expertise and resources in pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacovigilance across Europe and providing a platform for collaborations
- developing and maintaining methodological standards and governance principles for research in pharmacovigilance and pharmacoepidemiology
The ENCePP Steering Group consists of 17 members and provides a good balance of expertise (i.e., regulatory, conduction of pharmacoepidemiological studies, patients, healthcare professionals, ethical issues). It defines and safeguards the objectives and principles of ENCePP and decides on operational tasks of the network.
Annalisa has been always engaged in the ENCePP activities since 2019, particularly within Working Group 3 focused on the inventory of European data sources and methodological approaches for multisource studies. In this framework, she cooperated in the analysis of post-authorisation studies registered in the EU PAS Register from September 2010 to December 2018 (Sultana J et al, 2022). She is currently involved in a sub-analysis on paediatric only post-authorisation studies included in the register.
