11/10/2012 - Clinical trials, early availability of treatments, pricing and reimbursement at the center of the V Foresight Training Course
On September 2012, the V Foresight Training Course was held in Warsaw, Poland, focussing, as every year, on the main development in European research, innovation, and the availability and security of drugs.
This year, for the first time, grant assignments were given to 20 young talents, supporting them thus on their path into science. 
08/10/2012 - FDASIA: a FDA act that impacts on rare and paediatric diseases.

The Food and Drug Administration Safety and Innovation Act (FDASIA) signed into law on July 9, 2012 supports the efforts to accelerate development of products for paediatric rare diseases.

The law ensures that children will have a permanent place on the agenda for drug research and development.

These improvements will help spur paediatric drug development and speed paediatric drug information to patients and providers.

 

30/09/2012 - A breakthrough in the field of rare diseases: EUCERD releases a recommendation to the European Commission

In September 2012 the European Union Committee of Experts on Rare Diseases (EUCERD) issued a recommendation to the European Commission in order to enhance the exchange of information between Member States and European Authorities with the intention of facilitating the ability of Member States to make informed decisions on access to orphan medicinal products and, most notably, to bridge the knowledge gap at the time of Marketing Authorisation.
