Fight against doping

The Foundation is supporting the particular approach to the fight against doping, which has characterised the thinking of Professor Benzi starting from his proposed ‘Doping’ definition as ‘the improper use of pharmaceutical products and of all substances used outside the specific context of treatment or nutrition for which they were put on the market’. This definition of ‘doping’, which was for so long strongly opposed by national and international sporting bodies, is now largely accepted both in Italy and in many Countries.

Another relevant aspect is represented by the Prof Benzi commitment to represent the phenomenon of the doping in terms scientifically adequate and to promote, in the same time, the availability of a clear, correct, unprejudiced information, presented in such a way to offer ethic guidance to the public and in particular to the younger people.

Awards for journalism, publications, organization of awareness raising events, conferences and research projects are all means by which the Foundation intends to promote and consolidate these themes.
